Managing periods in Tanzania is challenging due to a lack of access to menstrual products and sanitation services. Over 50% of Tanzanians do not have access to improved sanitation and access to clean drinking water is often limited (Moloney, 2020). More than one million girls miss school each month because they cannot afford sanitary pads, while some share used ones.
Reusable sanitary pads, prepared from fully recycled fabrics by our amazing partner Sewing Together by Maja Kotala, contribute to the global fight with menstrual poverty and improve the female school attendance.
