Tool Rental Center

Provide access to facilities that allow knowledge to be applied in practice

Statistically, in the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania, most children complete their education at the age of 13–14 without obtaining any vocational qualifications and therefore lack the ability to earn a living. This leads to stagnation in economic development, the perpetuation by children of traditional social/family models, marriages among children, and a lack of emancipation and independence of women.

Even those who manage to enter vocational training with a carpenter or tailor often cannot turn the knowledge they acquire into a business due to the lack of capital to invest in their own workshop, space, or tools. Many individuals possess manual skills that would enable them to carry out minor household repairs; however, due to limited access to appropriate tools, they are unable to do so. Moreover, the inability to carry out large orders or repairs results in a significant outflow of money from the region and hinders development.
